Jace's Baby Quilt

Quilt for my nephew who's due in December. My sister asked for a pretty simplistic quilt, so solid colors and herringbone was the result

Embroidered his name on the back.

Meagan's Circle Quilt

A birthday/housewarming for a good friend of mine. Used a UFO (unfinished object) I had lying around for part of the back. This one from way back then.

Diamond Wedding Quilt

A good friend of mine is getting married this Sunday and this is the wedding quilt I made for her and her husband to be. Love this pattern, love the colors. LOVE how fast this went.
I just pieced together odds and ends for the back. Pay no attention to the weird puckering.

I won't lie, I was sorely tempted to keep this one. I am glad that it's found a nice home now.

Mini Hexagons

This is one of those "I feel suddenly inspired to finish off some old projects!" These hexagon pieces have been lying in my workbasket longer than I'd like to admit. Now they are quilted, binded and ready to be used.

This one is using smaller hexagons, which makes it more time consuming, but I think the end result is lovely. This one is definitely staying with me.
I used a mixture of vintage scraps and quilting fabric leftovers for the hexagons and binding.

If you have ever been to a library book sale I'm sure you'll be able to relate to the drawing above.
Sulky boy is sulky. The motif is inspired by Mucha. Thank goodness I don't have to say that out loud. I was at a con once and commented that a drawing looked Mucha inspired. Feeling very proud of myself for being able to remember an artist and recognize their style, she then replied that yes it was and "It's pronounced MucHA" I don't reference artists anymore.

Sun Power 2x

It wasn't too long after I posted my first sun plushie on Etsy, that I got a request for two suns. The woman ordering them asked if one of the suns could be more girly and the other more boyish, as she was purchasing them for her son and daughter.
 Here's the end result
All made up and ready to be loved and squished

Mushroom Rattle

The plethora of baby showers happening in my church sparked a need for a new baby item. My mom knit a lovely baby sweater and asked if I could make a mushroom rattle to go with it. The rattle was well received at the shower and lo, requests for baby rattles are coming in. I'll soon have a listing for the rattle in my shop available in four colors, so stay posted.

Doodles

So not too long ago my family and I re-watched the original series and thus, this doodle came into   existence. As you can see, Kirk has already filled his shirt-ripping quota for this episode.
Also some older doodles from when Spiderman first came out.
Oh and when I read Fahrenheit 451 I got super inspired and came up with their logo

Sherlock Embroidery

I had a Sherlock Embroidery idea come to me last week, so I sketched out a design and transferred it to  fabric.
Hand-stiched on cotton and framed

Here's my original sketch. The embroidery is now available in my Etsy

Vintage Hexagon Quilt

I love hexagon quilts. I've always admired the vintage quilts I've found when browsing through  antiques stores. I decided to make my own version using vintage sheets and larger hexagon template.

Paper-piecing and hand sewing this quilt is going to be years in the making, especially since I want to make it queen size.
I love working on this and seeing the bright colors come together

Mail Art

I love sending and receiving mail

Collaging envelopes is one of my favorite ways to make mail art. I use vintage paper, stamps and odds and ends of paper that I find in my travels

I figure if you are going to take the trouble of sending mail why not make it pretty?

Watercolors

Pulled out my watercolor supplies last week and here's the result

You know you have them sometimes

Nothing like a little Andrew Bird inspired art, and I mean come on, who doesn't love the moon?

My friend and I share a Netflix account and I am sure we both have those moments of looking at the "recently watched" and going "HUH?" Me watching a lot of Buffy? Whatno.....

Used the ol' put paint in middle of paper. Fold in half. See what you can make out of it trick

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here is a little winged octopi sending some Valentines love your way. He's even got some fleece hearts to throw at you if you aren't in the spirit of the day.
Here are some Valentines I made this week. A little Parks and Recreation themed one

The Hon Solo one was my own invention, I know, impressive. Don't clap too loud guys, the neighbors    will think you're strange.

Classic Zuko one as well, because we all need a little Avatar in our life. (No I'm not talking about blue people)
